In this inspiring and humorous talk, transatlantic sailor Mike Foley will discuss the keys to successfully navigating his 40-foot sailboat across the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to numerous entertaining stories, much of what Mike will discuss is a great metaphor for all aspects of life. Since 2004, Mike has led sailing expeditions with ports of call that include the Great Lakes, Puget Sound, Southern California, Central America, Key West to Maine, Bermuda and the Caribbean. In 2023, he sailed his Passport 40, Midnight Voyageur, across the Atlantic Ocean from Maine to Portugal. This past year, he sailed up to Ireland and Scotland. When ashore, Mike teaches communications classes as a consultant and professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
